PepsiCo UK & Ireland has reformulated classic Pepsi to now have 57% less sugar, containing only 4.55 grams of sugar per 100ml.

In addition to a lower amount of sugar, the reformulated Pepsi is sweetened with a blend of acesulfame potassium and sucralose, with 56% fewer calories from added sugars.

All canned and bottled classic Pepsi drinks across the UK and Ireland has updated nutritional information on the packaging disclosing the reduced sugar content. There is no change to Diet Pepsi or Pepsi Max.

The group claims that its reformulated Pepsi is the next step in its aim to reduce sugars across the entire beverages portfolio, as part of its global pep+ transformation plan. Over 90% of the colas it sells in the UK and Ireland are sugar-free versions.
