Mackie’s of Scotland is to give away a host of prizes across social media, including a getaway worth £2,500 as part of its Discover Summer digital campaign, which celebrates adventure, simple activities, trying new things and getting back outdoors, as well as real dairy ice cream.
“This fits with the times, as the country is moving towards more freedom and seeing friends and family again,” said sales director Stuart Common.
The activity is part of a comprehensive marketing and advertising programme, including on-pack promotions and a new website, which are supporting the firm’s refreshed ice cream packaging.
“Consumer research led to the creation of a fresh new look for the brand, and helps focus on key attributes like our dairy farm heritage and the wholesome dairy ingredients – while retaining recognition and trust in the original product,” said Common.
The firm also recently launched a Chocolate Orange & Honeycomb variant (rrp £3.50), following the success of its Orange Chocolate bar, which launched last year. “The new ice cream – and the chocolate and honeycomb ingredients – are crafted on-site at our Aberdeenshire farm,” said Common. “Initial popularity with listings means the flavour will be available across Scotland in Coop, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Iceland.”
