I've had tips similar to this one I received from Maqsood Akhtar before, but it's worth repeating. A few years ago his bank charges for his business, Blackthorn News in Rotherham, suddenly went from about £7 a month to £120. When he complained his bank advisor at HSBC suggested, in an off-the-record sort of way, paying everything into his personal account and then transferring what he needed for his direct debits to his business account once a month. He's been doing this for 10 years and his bank charges are less than a tenner a month. He was keen to pass this on and indeed has been passing it on at the cash and carry for the past decade.

Of course, if you all start doing this I expect the banks will eventually twig, but until then
