Cambridgeshire retailer Siva Thievanayagam is to overhaul one of his sites to create a flagship Nisa store.

He has closed his 3,000sq ft store in Stanground, Peterborough, with a view to reopening just before Christmas.

The sites is currently trading under the Simply Local fascia, and will re-open as a Nisa Local following a refit which is expected to take around five weeks.

According to Nisa, the completed store will have a “much-improved customer offer including an impressive range of food and drinks to go and an extensive chilled and frozen range”.

Thievanayagam bought the store in 2020 and has traded it in its existing state for three years with a view to updating it.

Commenting on the new addition to his estate, Siva said: “The store standard really needs improving and bringing up to date. I want to give shoppers the full convenience offer with a focus on food to go and plenty of great deals.

“I’m very excited to get the project underway and am looking forward to welcoming the community into the store when we launch in December.”
