Bakery Brand Délifrance is capitalising on demand for vegan foods with tha launch of its pre-packed spelt flour and quinoa croissants.
The new product is designed to further bolster Délifrance Feel Good range, representing the first in a long line of new products expected to hit stores later this year. Each crossant comes in a 80g twin-pack and is sold to retailers in ready-to-bake cases of 56.
Stéphanie Brillouet, marketing director for Délifrance (UK, Northern Europe, and North America), said: “Our recent insight report Beyond Breakfast & Brunch, puts a ‘good’ vegan offer as a necessity for a good breakfast option, as well as identifying pastries as the UK’s treat breakfast of choice, and second-favourite every day breakfast.
“Therefore, quality, varied, vegan-friendly viennoiserie is going to be key to capitalising on the vegan grab and go customer in 2019. And with the need for convenience driving 48% of consumers to eat breakfast out of the home, retailers should take their vegan options seriously, or risk losing out on repeat grab & go custom.”.
