The fifth round of Londis cluster meetings takes place this month, with group bosses confident in the scheme's future.
Speaking at the recent Londis show in Coventry, head of sales support Kelvin Ling said group numbers were growing steadily with each round, and about 30% of members now regularly attend a local cluster group. Ling said the aim was to secure at least 70% attendance in the future.
Londis retailer and chairman of the group's retail council Raj Chandegra is also pleased with the progress. He said: "Although there was initially a slow uptake, they are now going well. Numbers have pretty much doubled since the first round and on average there is about 30-40% attendance."
Raj added: "A lot of issues discussed at the cluster groups are taken up at regional level and then filtered through to head office. It's important retailers see that the meetings are not a waste of time and are a good chance to discuss issues with other retailers."
