The government has announced higher limits for unfair dismissal and redundancy payments made to workers in employment rights cases.
The increased limits, which came into force on February 1, affect statutory redundancy payments, basic and compensatory awards for unfair dismissal, payments made when employees are not provided with work, and the minimum basic award for unfair dismissal in health and safety cases.
The limit on the amount of compensation for unfair dismissal has risen from £58,400 to a maximum of £60,600.
