Nisa Retail Limited has appointed two new independent non-executive directors to its board.

Christopher Baker MBE has been appointed chairman. With senior management experience at Littlewoods, Coopers & Lybrand and Hill Samuel Bank, Baker has served as non-executive director of Jacques Vert and Blooms of Bressingham.

Former Royal Mail MD Gillian Wilmot has also been appointed to the chair of Nisa Retail’s remuneration committee. As well as founding business advisory service Board Mentoring, Wilmot has experience at Marks & Spencer, Boots, Next, Avon and Littlewoods.

These new appointments join Peter Hartley, who was appointed as an independent non-executive director in December 2012 and chairs the company’s audit committee.

In a statement announcing the new additions, the existing members of the Nisa Retail Board were “delighted to welcome the three new independent non-executive directors and look forward to working with them for the mutual benefit of the company and its member shareholders”.
