Young store owners are feeling the pressure as the retail industry gets tougher, a new survey has revealed.
Research by Barclaycard Business found that 70% of Britain's retailers under 24 think their job is stressful, almost 30% higher than the national average of 41%. And 60% are more stressed than they were a year ago.
The annual poll of 1,000 store owners found that 42% of retailers of all ages are more stressed in their jobs than they were 12 months ago. More than a quarter (27%) claimed that the health of the economy had been a contributing factor, with one in five of younger retailers attributing their stress to the current climate.
