Swedish cider brand Kopparberg is set to unveil its biggest ever npd with the launch of Naked Apple cider.

Kopparberg is renowned for its fruit cider, but it now wants to widen the appeal of the apple category and make it more attractive to more people. Kopparberg Naked Apple Cider is stripped away of all other fruits and is the original apple cider from the town of Kopparberg, Sweden. The new variant is less sweet than the existing Kopparberg fruit ciders, and is descrbied as a ‘crisper, fresher alternative’ to estbalished cider brands.

The new variant will be available from 26 April. The launch will be supported by a £10m marketing push.

UK managing director, Davin Nugent said: “We have spent time, energy and money researching the cider category to understand the needs of consumers. By launching Kopparberg Naked Apple Cider, we will deliver consumers the quality they expect from Kopparberg, and contribute to the long-term success of cider in the UK.”

It is available in 500ml bottles and 6x500ml packs and has an ABV of 4.5%.
