Landmark aims to convert more than 300 stores to its Hot House retail development scheme by the end of the year. At a conference in Toronto, Canada, retail projects controller Raj Krishan said more than 160 stores had converted to the project in the past year, with a similar number on the waiting list.
Landmark marketing director Chris Rose said: “Retail sales following conversion have increased by an average of 39%, with wholesalers reporting up to 60% more trade with Hot House outlets.” Launched in August 2002, Hot House aims to raise standards in independent c-stores through the implementation of product ranges and equipment based on industry best practice.
