The Lothian store is offered for sale with all its stock, fixtures and chiller units.

A successful licensed convenience store called The Wee Shop in Tranent, East Lothian, has been put up for sale by estate agents Christie & Co., with a price of £120k.

The agent said there was further scope to expand the near 1,000 sq.ft store’s turnover, adding the business was already well-established. Located near Lothian town, close to Edinburgh, the freehold represented an excellent opportunity to be improved.

Consisting a shop, small office and a store room, and with a loyal customer base built up over many years plus a good location to catch early morning commuters, the business could offer a sure footing for a new operator while still “leaving plenty of room to increase turnover,” the listing revealed.

All stock, fixtures and fittings are to be included in the sale, including display units and refrigeration. Turnover could be increased by a new owner by extending opening hours, refreshing the internal space to improve the grocery offering, providing a hot food to go option and increasing the current range of services on offer. There is also potential for an extension.
