Spar Alloa Road in Falkirk has announced it has broken the £60k monthly sales barrier on rapid grocery delivery after a record December performance accelerated growth at the family-run convenience store.
Operated by Asiyah and Jawad Javed, the store generated £63,424 in online sales from 2,830 orders in December alone, as well as acquiring 349 new customers as delivery continued to gain momentum locally.
Across 2025, Spar Alloa Road grew Snappy Shopper sales by almost 120% year-on-year, reaching £350k in annual delivery revenue - up from £160k in 2024.
Jawad said: “The growth we’ve seen has been huge. That level came down to strong offers, great prices and the fact customers genuinely love a bargain.”
With an average order of £30 in December, delivery has shifted beyond top up shops, with many customers now ordering multiple times a week, Jawad said. “We have customers who rely entirely on our Snappy Shopper app. Some order two or three times every week,” Jawad added. “Many of them can’t travel easily, so the delivery service is essential for them.”
The store operates across Falkirk, Larbert, Stenhousemuir, Grangemouth, Camelon and Airth, with delivery now embedded into daily operations. The store also services the local hospital, delivering directly to wards up to six times per day.
”We’re delivering to the hospital around six times a day,” Jawad said. “Even on a quiet week, hospital deliveries alone can generate £400 to £500. It’s not easy because hospital deliveries take time and effort, but it’s worth it because people rely on us.
“This shop isn’t just a business,” he said. “It’s about supporting those around us, whether that’s through everyday essentials or helping families when they need it most.”
