I am delighted that the government is pushing ahead with this initiative and I am sure it’s something we should all do for the environment we live in.
Just to add to the above we have stopped “selling” 5p bags for some weeks now and the customer feedback has been very positive. We only supply long life 10p bag with a view to sourcing alternative bio degradable bags or similar in the near future. We have explained to the customers of our intent and the mults I noticed have pushed similar agenda a head of legislation which has helped us educating the public. I just hope the convenience sector also takes the lead. It would also be good if the symbol suppliers were to start sourcing alternatives asap.
