G Naidu, what are you on about? You sell alcohol which is a far worse drug than cannabis.

If you don't want to sell alcohol, surrender your premises licence and enjoy the freedom it brings. It's entirely your choice to sell alcohol, no one is forcing you to. If you don't want to sell a product, you don't have to, but why shouldn't the rest of us?

Do you sell king size Rizla by any chance?

It's a well known fact that drunk people are often aggressive and hard work as can be seen in town centres across the country on Friday and Saturday nights but stoned people generally don't cause any trouble and are fine to deal with. Just compare the incidents at pubs/bars to those at "coffeeshops" where cannabis is legal and you'll see exactly what I mean.

Cannabis isn't even physically addictive like most drugs (alcohol and nicotine on the other hand are addictive) and you undoubtedly serve stoned people on a daily basis when they visit your shop to buy their munchies and then go home without incident. You probably don't even know they're stoned.

Ignorance and naivety are the reasons cannabis is illegal.

As for the harder drugs like heroin, I don't think they should be sold anywhere but should be given on prescription to addicts, with the aim of getting them off drugs by gradually reducing the dose. This would see a massive reduction in crimes such as shoplifting and robbery which are commonly committed by addicts to fund their habit.
