Following a successful launch this Summer, Upbeat has announced an extension to its protein waters range, with a new health-driven flavour launching at the start of next year.

The new Blood Orange & Mandarin Protein Water is hoping to offer retailers a nutrition enriched water plus drink. Combined with a January ‘new year, new you’ launch, the product is designed to take advantage of health and nutrition being at the forefront of consumers’ minds.

The new flavour will join Upbeat’s current range – which includes Blueberry & Raspberry and Summer Lemon – and will be available in 500ml bottle, containing 12g of whey protein, B-vitamins and real fruit. Each bottle also has zero sugar and fewer than 55 calories.(rrp £1.79)

Mark Neville, founder of Upbeat, said, “Little things in life make a big difference. Choosing a drink not just for hydration, but to also keep you at your best through the day is a passion for us. Upbeat protein waters do just that by helping you to stay strong, feel energised and improve your mental performance. We know consumers face a challenge when it comes to choosing a hydrating drink with such an array of choice.

“Upbeat provides all the taste, zero sugar, and a quarter of your daily protein needs. Blood Orange and Mandarin has gone through a year of development and we are excited to be landing it at a time when consumers are most in need of a health boost. Not only will this have great consumer appeal but it will also support retailers to maximise on potential sales from the growing water plus category.”

The launch of the Blood Orange & Mandarin Protein Water will be supported by a £1m investment plan, which will include outdoor advertising, targeted digital engagement as well as events, PR, social, sampling, and in store support.
