UNITED BISCUITS has announced a 50% reduction in the saturated fat content of three of its McVitie’s biscuit brands: Digestives, HobNobs and Rich Tea.

● The reduction is clearly highlighted on packs. The biscuits are already free from artificial flavours, colours and hydrogenated vegetable oil.

● The saturated fat reduction will be promoted to consumers in January via a heavyweight TV campaign.

● AC Nielsen figures reveal that sales of McVitie’s biscuits are up 7% on last year and that the brand is now worth £390m.
