Heineken has launched Foster’s Stubby, a new Aussie-style 330ml can that will be available through convenience from late March.

Doug Walker, head of UK off-trade customer marketing at Heineken, said: “The launch of the 330ml Stubby can gives retailers a Foster’s pack range that meets different shopper occasions.”

Foster’s Stubby contains 1.3 units of alcohol per can, “which meets a growing consumer need for ‘cold lager refreshment from first to last sip’ on mid-week drinking occasions where moderation and care and control have become increasingly important shopper needs,” he added.

The Foster’s Stubby will be available in a ‘6 for £5’ price-marked pack in impulse outlets and sold in non price-marked packs in grocery convenience stores.

The Stubby will feature from this month in a humorous new creative execution in programme idents for Channel 4’s Original Comedy sponsored by Foster’s, which shows Down Under agony uncles Brad & Dan finding inventive ways to maintain uninterrupted access to their supplies of the Amber Nectar.
