Bobby’s Foods has added a sharesize pack of its onion rings.

Available now in 115g bags and retailing at £1, the packs are designed to feature in the pound special aisles of stores. The range comes in cases of 12 as Bobby’s anticipates further growth of the big bag range through the festive period.

Marketing executive Chris Smith said: “Consumers are increasingly looking for great value and this has become our fastest growing product area. Taking into account the feedback we have received, we have decided to turn our current impulse 40g Onion Rings into a big bag too.”

The brand has seen a sales growth in the forecourt sector of late. Key accounts manager John Lucas explains: “The convenience sales in forecourts have become just as important as the fuel sales. With margins on the fuel becoming less, forecourt retailers have addressed more of the convenience side of the business. We are currently working very well with the Fraser Group and Carsley Group on the forecourt side.”

James Kemp, area manager for the Mark Carsley Group said big bags are one of the best sellers in store. “Including a lower price marked brand like Bobby’s enabled us to capture customers with different price budgets. It also encourages consumers to purchase snacks on impulse because of the great value.”
