New training sessions are being offered to the retail industry to help avoid ’smash and grab’ robberies.

The sessions are being run by security training company StoneHawk Limited, which was recently established by former Metropolitan Police officer Simon Wilson to raise awareness of smash and grab incidents that affect both staff and business owners.

The training offered by the company is delivered by experienced security professionals Paul Campbell and Rob Henderson and has been designed with support from the police, insurance brokers and membership associations.

Each four-hour training session is delivered externally across the UK, with minimal impact on store trading. The course is designed to reduce the loss of stock, minimise the risk of injury and address the trauma associated with robbery.

Company founder Simon Wilson said: “Staff are the key asset for any business – but is your team equipped to cope if a security situation threatens their safety on your premises?”
