Three-quarters of c-store managers believe that availability could be improved significantly - and 68% of store assistants agree, a poll has shown.
In the latest survey of convenience store staff conducted by HIM, store assistants also expressed concerns about their working environment. Some 40% of sales assistants do not believe that the company is doing enough to improve working conditions, while almost a third (30%) think more could be done to improve the safety and security of colleagues.
Crime remains high on the agenda for store workers, with half claiming that more could be done to prevent it.
Many staff also complained that they were not given enough information to carry out their jobs properly. Only half of sales assistants say they are kept properly informed on promotions.
