Nisa has reported a surge in annual sales of its Heritage chilled ready meals own brand that encompasses 27 products.

Value sales grew 15.7% in the year to the end of May and volumes climbed 21%.

The range includes traditional British, Italian, Indian and Oriental meal solutions and three “meal for 2” 800g products, including the newly added Beef Lasagne.

Macaroni Cheese and Beef Stew and Dumplings were particularly strong performers over the period, Nisa reported.

All the ready meals are price-marked at “Any 2 for £5” and can be mixed and matched with the Heritage pizza range.

Tracey Redfearn, Heritage brand manager, said: “We’ve been delighted that our Heritage ready meals continue to experience strong growth and continue to be a firm favourite amongst both our retailers and their customers.”

Consumers often needed inspiration for their meal for tonight and Nisa’s wide variety of own-label ready meals helped its retailers to provide a strong range of easy meal solutions.

“Heritage is one of Nisa’s key USPs, suitable for both symbol retailers and those trading through Nisa’s independent and specialist business unit, and is regularly reviewed to ensure it provides consumers with a relevant and varied range that delivers quality and value,” Redfearn said.
