Nisa has introduced a Co-op-branded £3.50 lunchtime meal deal for its retailer members.

Meal deal

Nisa has seen sales value in the meal deal category increase by 123% this year and expects the bundles - which include a main, snack and drink, as well as vegan, festive packs and world recipes - to further drive sales.

Nisa category controller Ben Purvis said: “The Co-op brand has made a massive change, bringing a significant point of difference and such a wide variety of options.

“Running a meal deal is hugely important and you can still make a good margin and remain competitive in the market.”

Profit margins are based on simplified wholesale pricing and are unaffected by the combination of products purchased by the consumer. Nisa said retailer can expect a minimum 17.5% margin from the meal deal package.

Adam Vincent, director of Nisa member Dike and Son, said: “The cases of four have enabled us to develop this side of the business relatively risk free, making it even more of a destination for customers looking for an inspiring lunch.”
