More than half the sub post offices in the South East have insufficient facilities to accommodate disabled customers.
A study by Postwatch, the postal services watchdog, of 241 post offices in the South East, showed 95% of directly managed branches offered disabled access of some sort. However, 51% of sub post offices had either no ramp access or not enough space for a wheelchair to pass through the entrance.

The research also showed that 95% of directly managed post offices had sufficient space for wheelchairs to reach the counter compared to 33% of sub offices.
