Landmark member Hyperama Cash and Carry is set to open a new outlet in Cambridgeshire this autumn.

The Peterborough development will be the company’s third outlet in the UK after openings in Nottingham and West Bromwich in the 1990s. A 55,000sq ft former Royal Mail building is to be transformed with a total investment of more than £3m.

The new cash and carry will stock up to 20,000 lines at any one time with particular emphasis placed on fresh, chilled, frozen, ethnic foods, licenced and non-food products. There will be more than 100 parking places and a covered loading area for customers.

The business will be run by Gary Love, previously manager of Booker in Cambridge, assisted by his former Booker colleague Roger Pleasants. The company will be targeting independent retailers and developing its Retail Club in conjunction with Landmark’s Hot House programme. The new outlet is on the Eastern Industrial Estate.
