The husband-and-wife team were forced to cease trading and live in a caravan after waters devastated their store and home in the South Yorkshire village of Toll Barr.
"After nine months of worry we are overjoyed to be back trading again," said Jenny, who organised the grand opening for the newly refurbished store. "We were overjoyed by the number of local people who attended the opening," she said. "We even had a visit from the mayor and the Lord-Lieutenant, which was a real honour."
Jenny employed the services of a children's entertainer, who was kept busy painting the faces of local children all day.
The opening was supported by Allied Bakeries, which donated bread and crumpets for the hungry crowd of visitors.
Jenny and John also managed to collect £720 from local people in a charity raffle for Cancer Research.
"It was such a happy day, and I'm just so relieved that we can finally put the terrible experience of the flood behind us," added Jenny. "All I have to worry about now is getting my head around the new epos system we've installed."
