Retailers have a unique opportunity to profit after closing time thanks to an automated convenience store offer from Village Vending.

The company unveiled its first machine in the Derbyshire village of Clifton earlier this month, with more to follow.

The machine stocks a wide range of essential groceries, including fresh and chilled produce, and was installed in the local pub car park after the village lost its store.

Village Vending managing director Peter Fox said machines could also help existing retailers gain out-of-hours sales with no extra staff costs.
