More than three-quarters of employers in the retail sector admit they have staff retention problems, according to new findings.
The research, published by the Chartered Management Institute and Remuneration Economics, reveals 78% of employers have trouble holding on to staff.
The survey also shows resignation rates among women in the retail sector stand at 11.7%, higher than men in the sector at 10.2% and the national average of 7.8%. Fewer women (2.6%) than men (3.7%) are also inclined to ask for internal transfers if they are dissatisfied with their current role.
The findings come despite women enjoying faster career progression than their male colleagues.
