The government is considering relegating cigarette displays to 'the dark side', meaning tobacco will have to be covered from view and possibly sold from under the counter.
Here is a petition which most retailers will be keen on signing. Darren Norman writes: "Selling cigarettes is vital to my business, as it is to thousands of retailers. I have now set up a petition on the 10 Downing Street website which will hopefully get the government to
re-think its proposals. More than 200 signatures and it will be presented to the prime minister, and we are guaranteed a response on the subject from him.
