They’re shouting it out loud in Leicestershire’s Great Glen
A promotional brochure landed on my mat recently. Nothing unusual there, except it came from Graham and Sue Parkinson, whose Leicestershire business is celebrating 60 years of service.
Great Glen Post Office was taken over by Sue’s parents in December 1958 and it’s been in the family ever since.
The glossy, very well-designed A5 brochure charts their progress over 10 pages which are packed with photos, testimonials and landmark stories, including the fact that, until 1992, the store was part of the cold war public alert system in the event of a nuclear attack!
Talk about a local store being indispensable.
