I know this has been said before, but once again our Shop Project has demonstrated that every retailer can beneit from some help. As many of you will already appreciate, even relatively small changes will often deliver fairly big rewards.
The store owners participating in Convenience Store's makeover exercise this year had varying amounts of retail experience but all of them were happy to work with our group of manufacturers.
From the outset, they received expert advice on consumer trends, product ranges, the latest launches and display techniques which are so important in making the most of your business.
The manufacturer project partners were able to provide expertise over a wide span of convenience products, each of them working with one or more of the test stores to assist the owners in detailed planning and then put their recommendations for change into practice.
Over the next four pages we introduce the store owners who took part in this year's Shop Project and the sales uplifts they achieved demonstrate in the clearest possible terms that even small changes do, indeed, have a big impact.
I hope you will enjoy reading about the project and then benefit from a re-examination of your own fixtures.
