Designed to give back to retailers while celebrating the spirit of sport, Premier Foods Summer of Cricket campaign this year has already seen retailers across the UK take part and win unforgettable experiences for themselves and their local community, in partnership with Chance to Shine [Number], a registered UK charity that inspires young people through cricket.

The trip to India for 2025 builds on the success of last year’s competition, which saw two retailers – Shahzad Khadam of MH Supermarket in Luton and Khalid Iqbal of Day Today in Glasgow – win an epic trip to Pakistan, where they had the chance to train with England legend Paul Collingwood.

Reflecting on last year’s prize win, Shahzad Khadam, MH Supermarket, says: “It was an opportunity I’d never thought I’d get!

“I brought a friend of mine who jumped at the opportunity. We’ve known each other for years and he has helped me out with work in my store in the past, so it was a nice way to thank him as well. He really appreciated the experience.

“What stood out most to me was being on the pitch and having Paul Collingwood bowl to me while I batted. That was surreal. I’ve watched so many cricket matches, but playing like that with a professional – it’s something I’ll always remember. It’s the kind of story you can tell in a room and no one else there has a similar experience.

“I’ll definitely be entering again this year. Although I doubt I’ll be lucky enough to win twice – what are the chances? But you have to be in it to win it. The prize was wonderful, a genuinely memorable experience – I would encourage all retailers to participate and be in with a chance of winning a such incredible prizes.”

Khalid Iqbal, Day Today, highlights how great an experience it was to take his wife on the once-in-a-lifetime trip to Pakistan. He adds: “It was really special to see how much my wife enjoyed it, too. It is a prize like no other, and one that holds such a personal significance, being a huge cricket fan. I can confidently say it is one of the most memorable prizes I have seen brands offer.

“I had heard about other winners of this campaign before, so I took the chance to enter myself and I’m so glad I did. The campaign has already proven to be a huge hit, with people able to win some incredible prizes – so why wouldn’t you want to get involved?”

This year, retailers will have a chance to find themselves training with India legend Dinesh Karthik, by purchasing five cases across the qualifying Premier Foods range from either Bestway or Unitas.

The Bestway and Unitas promotions will each run separately – Bestway from the 18th July to 14th August and Unitas from the 14th July to 3rd August. The prize for the exclusive experience is valid for redemption between January and March 2026, with final scheduling subject to Dinesh’s availability. The prize package includes a two-hour Q&A session with Dinesh, return flights, accommodation, and airport transfers – offering winners a fully curated experience from arrival to farewell.
