Premier Foods Convenience is giving retailers the opportunity to give back to their local communities, with the launch of the latest iteration of its popular Summer of Cricket campaign.

Summer of Cricket

New for this year, Premier Foods has partnered with Chance to Shine, a registered UK charity that inspires young people through the game of cricket.

With a straightforward mechanic that enables retailers to enter with their wholesale order, it’s an easy way for you to create fantastic opportunities for young people in your area. Read on to find out more about the incredible work that Chance to Shine does, and how you can get involved.

Giving back through sport

From now until the 22nd June*, Premier Foods is giving retailers the chance to win a Chance to Shine Cricket Engagement Day for their local school. The partnership is set to give independent retailers the opportunity to help more children discover a love for cricket and develop essential life skills like confidence, teamwork and resilience.

Last month, Premier Foods spent the day with independent retailers from across the country at The Kia Oval, home of Surrey County Cricket Club, and immersed them in the work Chance to Shine does. During this, retailers disclosed how important it is for brands to create campaigns that put communities at the centre of their plans.

Nila Patel, Millbrook Post Office and Mini Mart, shares: “It honestly gave me goosebumps to learn how many children Chance to Shine have supported across the UK through the power of sports, and through cricket, in particular. It’s amazing to see suppliers like Premier Foods helping to further the reach of this support through its Summer of Cricket campaign.”

Shining a light on local communities

Through its work with Chance to Shine this year, Premier Foods is pleased to support the charity in its mission to give every child access to sport, regardless of their background.

Chance to Shine reaches more than 600,000 young people each year through its Cricket Engagement Days. By working in collaboration with its retail customers, Premier Foods hopes to help the charity grow its impact even further.

Vidur Pandya, Kingsbury Village Store, says: “I am an ambassador and a governor at a primary school local to my store, so it is really important to me that they have access to initiatives, such as those from Chance to Shine. It is great to see such an iconic and established brand like Premier Foods helping to make opportunities more readily available to kids across the country through its Summer of Cricket campaign.”

More to come

There will be even more prizes up for grabs this summer. From a training session with England cricket star, Jos Buttler, to an all expenses paid trip to India to meet cricketing legend, Dinesh Karthik, keep your eyes peeled for more information!
