Scottish retailer David’s Kitchen has officially opened its new purpose-built store in Bo’ness.
The new site opened its doors on 21 August, introducing a “dynamic blend of freshly prepared hot and cold food, everyday essentials and heartfelt community service, all under one roof,” it said.
At the heart of the new branch is an in-store kitchen producing freshly made meals every day - from deli-style hot and cold wraps and baguettes to ready meals. This latest store is the company’s first new opening since 2019, reinforcing its long-term commitment to innovation and quality. It’s also a boost for the local economy, creating around 20 new jobs across kitchen, deli, and retail roles, including team members and supervisors.

With internal seating, barista coffee, an off-licence, a full Spar convenience range and a covered outdoor seating area, the Bo’ness location offers a one-stop-shop that’s expected to quickly become the cornerstone of the town. Customers can also order food for collection and outside catering services instore or via the app.
David’s Kitchen launched their first store in Glenrothes at a time when food to go was virtually unheard of in the convenience sector. It proved a game-changer, with subsequent successful openings in Falkirk and Kirkcaldy. While sites vary in size and layout, each shares the same core principles of freshly made food, community service and convenience delivered to the highest standard.
Speaking about the company’s continued growth, Keith Fernie, who leads the business with his fellow director Diane Greenough, said: “Our success is down to our focus on freshly made food, which makes us different from competitors - but looking after our customers and delivering exactly what they need has to be the most important thing.”
To celebrate the opening, a special launch event took place on Saturday, 30 August, attracting scores of local residents. The event featured live music from Falkirk favourites, The Hawkers (above left), who performed a mix of folk music. Customers also enjoyed sampled free food, and took advantage of incredible opening offers.
