Spar Scotland has unveiled a newly refurbished company owned Spar store in Denny, Falkirk, which formerly traded as Scotfresh.

It comes just 18 months after the store joined Spar and reflects strong momentum across the estate and local investment in modern convenience retailing, it says.

Since the acquisition, the 2405 sq.ft. store has undergone an extensive transformation. The relaunch features a new storefront and signage, a refreshed, more modern shopfloor layout and expanded product categories and ranges.

The store’s food to go offering has also been significantly enhanced, with a larger CJ’s counter offering hot pies, treats, meals and Rollover Hot Dogs. Two new Barista Bar machines - including iced coffee – also provide a broad choice of teas and coffees. The store also offers Snappy Shopper home delivery.

Day-to-day operations are led by manager Natalie McKerracher and her team, recognised for delivering great customer service. The store maintains an active Facebook page to keep shoppers informed which can be found at ‘Your local store – Denny.’

Frank McCarron, company owned store director for Spar Scotland, said: “It’s great to be able to officially welcome Spar Denny into the family. This store is very popular, and we’ll ensure it remains a cornerstone of the local community.

“Following an extensive refit, customers will see a brighter, more modern layout and an expanded range. We’ve listened to local feedback and invested to make shopping faster and simpler, while continuing to champion local suppliers such as butchers Patricks of Camelon. I’d like to thank Natalie and the team for their hard work and commitment throughout the transition.”

To celebrate the refit, Spar Denny will host a community event tomorrow (22 August) from 2pm to 4pm. Shoppers can enjoy gift voucher giveaways, try their luck on the Spar “spin the wheel” and take part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The day will also feature a charity donation to a great local cause and special promotional deals with support from suppliers. Families can look forward to a face painter, giveaways and additional surprises throughout the afternoon.
