Ten Acre is offering budding writers a chance to create their own Ten Acre short story.

Storytelling and literacy is in the DNA of Ten Acre. There are stories and characters behind every flavour of their ’Free From Plus’ hand cooked crisps and premium popcorn. There is even an online Ten Acre village to visit - a place where all of their characters live, where anyone can become a resident, enjoy village life and read free books in the Village Bookstore.

Ten Acre’s storytelling competition is running for both children and adults, with two briefs and three categories for; under 11’s, under 16’s and over 16’s. The competition requires a short story that takes inspiration from the world of Ten Acre.

The winner from each category will receive a selection of marvellous prizes including a huge picnic hamper full of Ten Acre’s ’Free From Plus’ hand cooked crisps and premium popcorn, the prestigious Ten Acre Storytelling Prize trophy - plus the winning story from both categories will be credited and published online in the Ten Acre village.

Tony Goodman, chief elucidation officer at Ten Acre, said: ”We are looking for budding writers to create the next chapter in Ten Acre. The village has witnessed it all - from Gerome Hickory’s heroic antics burning off his beard, Chilli the cat’s attempt at turning Humble Sweet’s attention back to himself to Sebastian Salt and Old Widow Vinegar stopping a giant bolder plunging towards the village! We are excited to see what thrilling adventures Ten Acre fans can come up with next…”
