In line with what it calls the emerging world foods trend, UK soy sauce brand Kikkoman has introduced a Korean flavour to its Teriyaki range.
Its new Teriyaki BBQ Sauce in Korean Style is made from the naturally brewed soy sauce, ginger, garlic and sesame oil, plus apples for a sweet and tangy Korean-style taste.
Additive-free and vegan-friendly, the new sauce extends Kikkoman’s range, which currently includes Teriyaki BBQ Sauce, Honey & Smoky Taste.
“We set out to develop a product that takes classic barbecue sauce and enrich it with highly popular teriyaki and Korean flavours,” said Bing-yu Lee, Kikkoman UK general manager.
“Consumers can expect an umami rich, flavour-filled sauce and, just as important, a sauce that is incredibly easy to use. Asian cuisines and especially flavours from Korea are gaining traction, reflecting a demand for authentic ingredients. We’re confident this new line fits with consumers growing demand for deeply rich and ready to use flavours that allows great tasting food to be ready in minutes.
Kikkoman entered the Teriyaki market back in the 1980s with its famous Teriyaki Marinade. Its latest sauce comes in a 250ml bottle with an RRP of £3.35.
Supporting the launch will be an exclusive digital recipe campaign to inspire and excite consumers on the taste and versatility of both of Kikkoman’s Teriyaki BBQ sauces.
