Ben & Jerry’s is aiming to boost its growth by launching two new indulgent lines inspired by iconic bakery treats - Churrifically Churros-y and Strawberry Doughnut-eee.
As research finds the number one reason for buying ice cream is as an indulgent treat, the new flavours are “designed to be the most indulgent Ben & Jerry’s pints yet, fully loaded with five elements (chunks and swirls) and perfect for a new, trend-driven moment,” it said.
Ben & Jerry’s Churrifically Churros-y features five different delicious elements inspired by the nostalgic churros experience - a mix of caramel and sweet cream ice creams, cinnamon sugar pieces, gooey chocolatey swirls and churros-style chunks.
Meanwhile, the Strawberry Doughnut-eee flavour features five bakery inspired elements to satisfy doughnut cravings - a mix of strawberry and sweet cream ice creams, white ampersand chunks, jammy strawberry swirls and doughnut-style dough chunks.
Both of the new lines are made with Fairtrade Certified vanilla, sugar and cocoa.
Lucy McManus, UK brand manager, said: “The new tubs are focused on accelerating growth through innovation that levels up the Ben & Jerry’s globally-adored offering. Our consumer testing has told us that churros and doughnuts are particularly popular among a young audience and are top scoring on purchase intent, especially among 18–34-year-olds, so we’re confident this launch will drive excitement among this demographic.”
Both packs carry RRPs of £5.75.
