Bavaria has added two new variants to its alcohol-free range.

Fruit Rose and Radler Lemon are designed to be summer drinks suiting the barbecue season.

Emiel Hendrikx, the brand’s brewing technologist, said: “We spend a lot of time and effort developing new drinks, working hard to develop good-tasting beers with distinctive flavours, regardless of the alcohol they contain. We do not consider these beers to be an alternative to soft drinks, or indeed premium beers. These are just great tasting drinks in their own right.”

He added that while there was perhaps a longer tradition of combining fruit with beer in Europe, “the British certainly seem to be appreciating the new flavours”.
