Christmas is coming early for some UK shoppers this year, as Southern Co-op spreads joy with a limited time mince pie giveaway to celebrate those with festive themed names.
If you’re a Noel, Holly, Ivy or Carol, this year your festive moniker could earn you a seasonal box of something sweet.
For two days only, on 9 and 17 December, lucky customers can pick up a free box of Co-op’s Merry Mince Pies at Southern Co-op’s 199 stores, provided their name appears on the official festive list.
Eligible names include Holly, Joy, Noelle or Noel, Carol, Eve, Buddy, Chris or Kris, Nicholas or Nick, or Ivy. To claim their free prize, shoppers simply need to show valid ID at tills.
Those lucky enough to qualify can enjoy a complimentary box of six mince pies – but they’ll have to be quick to claim their festive treat, with boxes only available while stocks last on each day.
In the spirit of Christmas giving, Southern Co-op will also donate £2 to local foodbanks for every box claimed, helping provide vital support to those who need it most this festive period.
The giveaway is part of Southern Co-op’s wider Magical Moments campaign, which is all about celebrating Christmas, offering support to communities and bringing unexpected moments of joy to people’s day.
Simon Eastwood, COO at Southern Co-op, said: “Giving back to those in need this season is something incredibly important to us as a co-operative. We hope the offer of free mince pies brings a little lift to our customers whole contributing to the wider support we’re providing in our communities.”
