Go Local retailers from across the UK came together in Manchester to recognise the stand-out achievements of the past year at Parfetts’ annual Go Local Awards.

The annual event highlights retailers who “set the pace for the sector through strong execution, community engagement and a readiness to innovate,” it said.

Judges noted both the high standards and volume of entries, reflecting the continued ambition across the Go Local estate.

The High Performing Store Award recognised Summer Lane Store, run by Andy Robinson (pictured above), as an outstanding Go Local operator who delivered consistently strong standards throughout the year.

Robinson said: “We set out to build a shop that would serve our community well and run with real discipline every day.

“The support from Parfetts has been great, and winning the High Performing Store of the Year award shows we are on the right path. We always strive to achieve more for our customers.”

Guy Swindell, joint managing director of Parfetts, added: “The awards get bigger each year and now stand as a fixture in the retail calendar. They give us a chance to bring retailers together from every region and recognise the best in the industry.

“Standards keep rising, and it’s clear that strong execution, community presence and a readiness to move with the market are pushing real progress.”

Noel Robinson, joint managing director of Parfetts, said: “We’ve enjoyed a strong 12 months, building on last year’s record performance and welcoming more retailers into Go Local. The awards are the right moment to acknowledge the effort that goes across our network, from retailers to suppliers and our own colleagues.”

Supplier awards were also presented on the night, with winners including CCEP, Red Bull, Budweiser, SHS, Pladis and more taking home gongs for their work with Go Local stores.
