Tesco has failed to provide evidence to support a claim that its presence has "dramatically increased" footfall in a Norfolk town.
Retailer Nigel Dowdney requested proof of the claim after the supermarket named Stalham as a town in which regeneration has taken place since Tesco's development.
Nigel, who owns the Stalham Shopper in the town, wrote to Tesco at the beginning of July this year. And despite follow-up letters and reminders he is yet to receive a response.
He told Convenience Store: "I asked Tesco to produce the figures to back up the claim. The lack of any response shows that it clearly can't substantiate it."
