As this is being written, Sudesh Gupta is trying to cancel an order for upgraded epos from Emperium which, according to its website, is a global software provider. Sudesh, who trades as Quick Store in Chalfont St Peter, says he was promised equipment similar only better than his current Toshiba, on a deal for £1,100.

On email he learned that the warranty wouldn’t be three years as he believed, and the hardware would be different, so he tried to cancel. They told him he couldn’t cancel although nothing has been delivered. Mastercard told him he couldn’t claim back the money until the goods arrived.

I tried to contact the company, suggesting they may as well cancel as Sudesh would only be sending the machine back, but got no response.

But still… they haven’t delivered. And it’s been weeks.
