You don’t need me to tell you about the importance of refrigeration, or the cost. Sudipe Lekhi, who runs the very busy St Paul’s Road Post Office in Smethwick, outside Birmingham, has been looking for a multi-deck since spring. His mate Rav Garcha (one of our C-Store Champions) suggested waiting for the Convenience Retailing Show at the NEC. That was good advice, but afterwards Sudipe still wasn’t sure whom to place his business with (especially as some didn’t follow up the leads generated by the show. Shame).
He wanted to know which company I would recommend. So far he fancied Koolmax, which had the size he needed and seemed to be the cheapest.
All I could tell Sudipe was that I had never received a complaint about Koolmax. It’s all I can ever tell people, although I did tell him which companies I had got complaints about. I also cannot give recommendations because I am not qualified; I have never had occasion to be a customer for commercial refrigeration.
The same day that I spoke to Sudipe I read that Indian external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj had to gently tell a Twitter user that she is not the best person to approach for issues about Samsung appliances. She tweeted to someone: “Brother I cannot help you in matters of a refrigerator. I am very busy with human beings in distress.” It went viral in India and generated lots of responses.
And that is what I am looking for: responses. All of you have fridges and freezers. Recommendations please.
