Pranay Patel Fresh & Local

The Premier League trophy paid a visit to a convenience store in Hampshire to secure a victory for local shoppers.

Organised as part of Guinness’ Premier League Partnership, the trophy stopped off at Fresh & Local in Hampshire, giving customers the chance to have their picture taken with the biggest prize in English football.

Speaking to Convenience Store, store owner Pranay Patel said it was an honour to host the Premier League trophy. “We’re the first store in the UK to ever host the Premier League trophy which is amazing for us. It created a real buzz about the store which is a fantastic boost for the staff and the community. It was great to have families come in and see the trophy up close in the store, and the fact it’s never been at another convenience store is great exposure for our business. It’s been great working with Diageo on this and they’ve been so helpful in getting this organised for our customers.”

Commenting on the visit, Diageo representative Janel Fatania said: “As part of Guinness’ Premier League Partnership, we attended Fresh & Local in Hampshire to host an exclusive Premier League trophy viewing. At Diageo, it’s really important that we support independent convenience with some of our standout activations, particularly Guinness.

“With demand peaking during key points in the Premier League sports games, it’s important that we work with retailers to help make the most of the surge in sales during these peak times. We worked really closely with the Fresh and Local team to provide them with point of sale, stock and glassware gift with purchase, to help really engage customers.”

Guinness celebrated the start of the Premier League season with the launch of a price-marked pack (PMP), exclusive to the convenience channel.
