I have been a strong supporter of this technonology and am working with the committee within my symbol group to deliver to all stores in the near future. I will not go into all the advantages as they are clearly explained in the article quite brilliantly.
However I think we need to convince the "old school" to come on board . The idea that you may not be able to have small talk with your customer is not true. In fact the whole experience of serving becomes much more pleasant as queuing time is cut and you have a happier bunch of people who wants to come to your store. You will also save money as the cost of transaction is much cheaper than other forms of cards. On the whole and on balance it's time we all moved on as nothing stays the same. Today's shoppers have changed and so has their requirements and so why not give people what they want which is a better & quicker shopping experience !
