Mondelez International has unveiled its Christmas 2016 offering, featuring a host of NPD and a scratch card competition exclusive to the convenience channel.

Cadbury Dairy Milk (CDM) Snow Balls (rrp £2.99) are a festive version of the brand’s successful Egg ‘n’ Spoon Easter launch. Snow Balls feature vanilla mousse in a hard chocolate shell and come in packs of four. The firm has also released Maynards Bassetts Wine Gums Merry Mix, which is available in a 165g sharing bag (rrp £1.32) and a 570g jar (rrp £5.99), and a CDM Santa Gift Box, which contains individually wrapped pieces of chocolate (rrp £2.99).

CDM Mousse Snowman in vanilla and chocolate flavours will be back for another year, as will Freddo Popping candy, and number one sharing novelty Snow Bites.

What’s more, retailers will be provided with scratch cards to hand out to customers who purchase three or more Cadbury products. If the card displays three Santas, they will be eligible to win a prize of up to £500 Love2shop vouchers and the retailer will receive a prize of equal value.

The Cadvent trucks campaign will also be returning for 2016, backed by £10m spend, and Cadbury sleigh POS material will be replaced by trucks.

Trade communications manager Susan Nash urged retailers to “start thinking about Christmas in September” and claimed that stocking the right products at the right time and using POS material to bring it to life in-store was key. “I still think there are a lot of retailers that haven’t really given Christmas a go, and it’s a great opportunity,” she said.
