Ferrero hopes to step up Easter sales with new Kinder and Ferrero Rocher activity.

On the Kinder side, it is launching new Kinder Surprise Storymakers which enables kids and parents to create a story online about their toy and can be captured in a personalised storybook.

The Storymakers will appear on all Kinder Surprise packaging between March and May.

According to customer development director Levi Boorer, the launch is designed to grow on Kinder Surprise’s success in 2014.

“Kinder Surprise experienced its best ever Easter in 2014, attracting more buyers and reaching £16.4m value sales (+119%),” he said. “Story time still remains a special bonding time between parents and their children and by stimulating a child’s imagination further with Kinder Surprise Storymakers, we can not only give parents creative work from their children that they can proudly display but also give children a fun activity to take part in during the Easter period.”

The Ferrero Rocher portfolio will be extended this spring with the launch of Grand Rocher. Containing the classic hazelnut and chocolate outer shell with two individual Ferrero Rochers inside (rrp £4.99), the NPD is designed for gifting. There will also be a spring-inspired Raffaello Mini Cube containing six pieces (rrp £2.99) while the recently-launched Ferrero Golden Gallery selection will also be available during the Easter/spring period in a 22-pack (rrp £7.99) and 45-pack (rrp £14.99).

The Ferrero launches will be supported by a £7.3m campaign which includes TV, launching on 23 February and focusing on sharing.
