Ferrero is giving its spring collection a jumpstart with £5m marketing spend for 2017.

Grand Ferrero Rocher gained double digit growth during spring 2016 (up 32% value and 46% in volume) and the Ferrero Rocher brand will be back with its ‘Magic Tree’ TV creative in the run up to Easter.

Kinder Surprise will be partnering with two new licenses, My Little Pony and Transformers, both of which will be available in a 100g format. The new large eggs will come in individual boxes, ideal for gifting.

New for the Spring gifting occasion are 140g (rrp £1.24) and 40g (rrp £2.09)  Raffaello Hearts. These will be promoted as part of an £850,000 media investment, targeting a younger audience with tongue-in-cheek messaging.

As part of the 2017 Easter line up, Thorntons will bring back Butterfly Milk Egg, Cupcake Milk Egg and Football Milk Egg. Alongside this, popular favourites: Gruffalo Milk Egg, Harry Hopalot Milk Egg and the Harry Hopalot White Egg.

Kinder Joy will also make a return. Sales exceeded £5.3m last Easter and the product will be supported with heavyweight shopper marketing and in-store displays in 2017.
