A two-page guide for retailers has been issued in collaboration between Elfbar and Lost Mary which aims to offer the knowledge needed to help customers looking to make the switch to refillable vapes after the disposables ban.

The guide is being shared with retailers and has been made available to retail trade associations whose combined membership exceeds 38,500, the pair say. They add that both brands’ refill pods and rechargeables offer a less wasteful and practical alternative for retailers and adult smokers alike.

The guide is tailored so shop staff can help adult smokers and ex-smokers understand the benefits of switching to reusable alternatives - now a legal requirement - by addressing common customer questions about the brands’ reusable products. The devices contain a rechargeable battery that can be recharged more than 300 times, with a full charge taking less than an hour.

Supported by readily available refill pods, Elfbar and Lost Mary have worked closely with retailers, wholesalers and distributors to ensure supply and accessibility for adult users nationwide, including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA and wholesale partners like Booker – with Morrisons set to follow soon.

Chris Kader, head of PR and communications for both brands in the UK, said: “The guide is part of the brands’ ongoing effort of working closely with retail partners – offering support that includes compliance advice and education on the features and benefits of reusable options – and has also been shared by retail trade associations with their members.

“With reusable devices new to many adult users, Elfbar’s 600 and Lost Mary’s BM600 prefilled pod kits reflect the qualities smokers valued in our single-use devices while meeting the new regulation and the need for more sustainable alternatives.”
